Eight developments are running at once, from Rivers Edge with more than two hundred lots to Turtle Ponds, Serenity at Seelye Brook and the Bluffs of Rum River, while a seven million dollar main water and sewer replacement swaps out pipe laid in 1973 for a town of nine hundred that now holds well over eight thousand. The highway through town is being rebuilt around four roundabouts.
This is a big, thinly settled city: nearly twenty-four square miles at around three hundred and sixty people per square mile, with almost no pre war housing and most of it built since the late 1990s. Not for a weekend event. Community Park has a single restroom in the concessions building, which is fine for a ball game and nowhere near enough for a festival crowd across three days. The usual answer is a bank of units placed away from the food, plus a handwash station wherever anything is being served.
Yes, and about half the households here are. The unit brings its own water and its own tank, so a property with a well and a septic system needs nothing added and nothing connected. On a job site with neither, it is often the only facility for the whole build.
It affects the route more than the schedule. With the main road through town being rebuilt around roundabouts, the approach to a site can change between visits, so a quick note about the current access saves a lap. We plan around it rather than treating it as a surprise on the morning.
On a subdivision of this size, months. A unit typically goes in with the first framing crew and stays through the finishing trades, moving once or twice as the street builds out. Short bookings work the same way at the other end of the scale: a weekend is as normal as a season, and neither needs a different arrangement. Festival weekends take event units on the field and sinks behind the food stands.
