Shoreview is built out, so the work here is remodels and municipal projects rather than new subdivisions. The city's population nearly tripled between 1960 and 1990 and the housing stock dates from that stretch, which means additions, tear downs and full renovations on established streets. Eight city, county and regional construction jobs are running this year. A unit on a street like that gets placed with a bit more care than one on an open lot.

Almost always, and it matters more here than on an open site. On an established street the unit goes on the property rather than the grass strip by the street, set back from the sidewalk, with the door facing away from the neighbors. That is a two minute conversation at delivery and it saves the homeowner a much longer one later.

State rules for temporary food stands require handwashing set up before preparation starts, kept accessible and used for nothing else, with running water, soap and disposable towels. They are explicit that gloves, wipes and sanitizer are not substitutes. A standalone station covers it where the site has no plumbing.
